Sora Sofa
The Endless Platform
A sofa without boundaries. The Sora system begins with a solid oak platform that extends as far as your space allows. Cushions float freely on its surface. Backrests move where you need them. Every curve is algorithmically generated, then hand-finished by craftsmen.
Made to Order — From $8,200 · Limited production
Most sofas are upholstery disguising a cheap frame. The Sora reverses this — the solid oak platform IS the sofa. Cushions float on top, backrests move freely, and the structure is on full display. Architects think in systems, not single objects, so the Sora is modular: three modules that combine into any layout you need.
At over four meters, the Grand configuration fits rooms that other Japanese furniture pretends don't exist. Every curve is computed using the same Grasshopper algorithm as the rest of the ENWA collection, then hand-finished. The result is a sofa you can walk around and admire from every angle — no bad sides, no hidden back panel.
Move Freely
The backrest isn't fixed—it moves where you need it. Sit forward for conversation. Lean back for movies. Remove it entirely for a daybed. The sofa adapts to you.

Wood That Holds You
Most sofas hide their frames. Ours celebrates it — because the frame is the design.
The Sora Sofa's wooden skeleton follows the same algorithmic curves as our tables and chairs, creating an exposed structure that flows around the cushions. No sharp corners on the frame — a deliberate choice for homes where life happens unpredictably.
The cushions are layered: high-density foam for structure, topped with down for softness. Sit down and the foam holds you; settle in and the down wraps around you.
Two finishes.
Same oak underneath.
Natural Oak
Thin-coat urethane applied in multiple passes — each sanded between coats — until the surface protects without concealing. Semi-gloss. You can feel the grain. Deepens to honey over years. Zero maintenance.
Charcoal
Deep enough to read as charcoal from across the room. Thin enough to keep every grain ridge tactile. Multiple ultra-thin pigmented layers, each hand-sanded before the next. In raking light, the oak reveals itself through the black.
