Maru Dining Table
No head of table. Just conversation.
A round table changes the politics of a room. There's no head, no foot, no hierarchy — just a circle where six to eight people sit as equals. The Maru makes this geometry structural: at 1300mm diameter, it's the largest round dining table in the ENWA collection, but the computed edge makes 55kg of solid oak look weightless.
The ENWA Edge circles the entire perimeter — one unbroken airfoil profile, impossibly thin from a distance, soft and inviting up close. Engineering a dining table this thin that still holds weight under daily use is the hardest problem in the collection. The base is calculated to distribute 200kg evenly, while the top flex stays under 1mm at any point.
No head of table,
just conversation
No head of table. No corners. Everyone sits equal. Seats six comfortably. Eight intimately.
Impossibly thin,
impossibly soft
The same computed edge as our rectangular table — razor-thin from a distance, soft up close. 5-axis CNC rough-cut, hand-sanded & finished.
Two finishes.
Same oak underneath.
Natural Oak
Thin-coat urethane applied in multiple passes — each sanded between coats — until the surface protects without concealing. Semi-gloss. You can feel the grain. Deepens to honey over years. Zero maintenance.
Charcoal
Deep enough to read as charcoal from across the room. Thin enough to keep every grain ridge tactile. Multiple ultra-thin pigmented layers, each hand-sanded before the next. In raking light, the oak reveals itself through the black.

The Maru uses a superellipsoid form — mathematically, it's between a circle and a square. This creates a shape that feels round and inviting while using space more efficiently than a true circle. The formula is computed parametrically, meaning we can fine-tune the exact curvature digitally before any wood is cut.
